Professional Racing Driver
Hello everyone my name is Martin Rump, I'm a 20-year-old from Estonia and I race in the Audi R8 LMS Cup with Team Champion.
I think I’ve had racing genes in my DNA since birth. I’ve always been interested in anything that moves fast – I would jump onto everything I could get my hands on that I could ride or drive fast, that I could ‘race’, even when I was way too small to actually properly reach the pedals, the handlebar, or the steering wheel – and I seriously mean everything: cross-bikes, motorbikes, go-karts, ATVs, snow-mobiles, cars all before I was 7. We would go to the local go-kart track with my dad and drive for fun. Then I joined the go-kart-club there.
I won my first Estonian Champion Title in 2006 and again later in 2008. I entered the European stage to do some character building through more competitions. In 2010, I won the Rotax World Finals, which is considered the Olympics of competitive go-karting. In 2013, I claimed my first two Vice-Champion trophies in Formula Renault in Europe. 2015 was my first time to come to Asia and I’ve really been enjoying it here since then. Last year I drove in FMCS and I’m now the first FMCS Champion ever to win 10 rounds within the season.
